How can you help your child get ready for kindergarten? Come and find out at Grace Valley Christian Academy’s free kindergarten readiness parent seminar on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. in the academy’s kindergarten classroom.

Information will be available about the academy’s kindergarten readiness summer program, designed for children entering kindergarten in fall 2014. The program runs from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays through Thursdays, July 7-24, and costs $175 per student.
The summer class provides training in early reading and math skills in a nurturing classroom setting. Students learn to recognize commonly used words, complete a preparatory handwriting program, and work on number recognition, counting and other early math concepts. Art projects and other activities reinforce these academic skills and foster creativity.
Grace Valley Christian Academy has a later kindergarten admission age cut-off than California public schools. Children who are 5 years old by Dec. 1, 2014, are eligible to begin kindergarten this fall at the academy. Applications are being accepted for the 2014-15 school year.
Grace Valley Christian Academy has been voted best private school in Yolo County for the last three years. The school educates students in kindergarten through ninth grade, and is located at 27173 County Road 98 in West Davis.
