Jump Rope for Heart

JumpRope1Despite breezes and cloudy skies, almost 100 students of Grace Valley Christian Academy turned their jumpropes in the school’s Jump Rope for Heart event on Wednesday, March 13. Their efforts raised funds for the American Heart Association, which provides research and education about health issues relating to the heart. GVCA was able to raise about $4,500 through the event, their first since 2006.
Students in first through ninth grade participated in the event on multi-grade teams. For an hour, the kids exercised their own hearts, encouraging each other as they jumped.
“We had so many different things to do, and you could meet new people that you didn’t get to talk to a lot,” enthused a fifth grade student.

A first grader smiled and added, “It was fun because I got to learn more about jumproping.”
Thank you to all the students who participated and the teachers who helped organize this event!
