GVCA Fourth Graders Tour Sutter’s Fort

The fourth grade “regiment” at GVCA “marched” to Sutter’s Fort on the 22nd of May to re-live their state’s history. Before going on this expedition to the 1800’s, they had discovered wagon loads of information from their history teacher, Mrs. Swickard. At the fort, they went on guided and self-guided tours to learn more about John Sutter, vaqueros, trappers, and pioneer travel.
One student exclaimed, “Wow! It was so good, there were many things that made you feel like you were in that period!” Another 4th grade time traveler summed it up: “Excitement, thrills, and history!”
