Youth groups for students in seventh through twelfth grades meet at 9:00 a.m. on Sundays for Bible study and at other times for social and recreational activities. Following are overviews of each of the three youth groups.
Seventh Grade Youth Group - On Sunday mornings the seventh
grade youth group is studying Our Reasonable Faith, by Herman Bavinck,
and Knowing God, by J.I. Packer. Using these books, the students
will explore the salvation offered to us in Jesus Christ and will study the
character of God. The group also meets together for social activities about
once a month. Goals for our students are their salvation and growth in sanctification.
Eighth and Ninth Grade Youth Group - The goals of the class
are to call each student to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and
to teach what it means to be Jesus' disciple. Students study basic biblical
doctrines using the Heidelberg Catechism. Through lecture and discussion,
students are encouraged to apply what they learn in everyday life. Students
also attend social and recreational activities which help them develop relationships
within the church community and share their faith with other teens.
High School Youth Group (Grades Ten through Twelve)
- This group's vision is to function as an outreach of Grace Valley
Christian Center to local high school campuses and to help youth group members
develop qualities of leadership for future usefulness in the kingdom of God.
The youth group's objectives are that each of its members would:
• have an experiential knowledge of Christ
• grow in Christian maturity
• develop vision for the kingdom of God
• be active in evangelism.
