A Shoot Will Come Up Lyrics
A Shoot Will
Come Up back
Isaiah 11:1-2,6,9
© 1994, Michael Ishii, ARR, UBP.
CHORUS
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse,
and from his roots a Branch will bear fruit,
and the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him.
CHORUS
And in that day
the wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling together
led by the hand of a child.
Surely God is my refuge; therefore, I will not be afraid.
CHORUS
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
And in that day
the cow will feed with the bear,
the lion will eat straw like the ox,
the infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
suffering no harm or distress.
Surely God is my refuge; therefore, I will not be afraid.
A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse
the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of power,
the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
Praise to
the Lord back

Praise to the Lord!
Maker of the heavens and the earth.
All creation, give Him oblation
and tell out His worth.
Praise now His name!
Praise Him for the work of redeeming love!
Joy unending, the Spirits sending us,
daily, grace from above.
CHORUS
Great is our Lord, repeat the story
of saving love that saved a wretch like me!
Shout out His praise: the God of glory
has made me His child,
set this sinful captive free!
Sing to the Lord!
Praise Him, earth and angels in the heights.
Stars give glory and tell the story
When heaven first saw light!
Great is His grace!
Great the love and mercy He showed to me:
God descended and then befriended
a wretched sinner like me!
CHORUS
Yes, I will praise,
praise the Rock that never will be moved!
Jubilation and exultation, since all my sins removed!
Sing out for joy!
Praise the Lord of Hosts and loudly exclaim:
fetters broken, since Grace has spoken.
O shout and praise His dear name!
CHORUS (x2)
Shout for Joy
to the Lord back
Psalm 100

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth;
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before Him with joyful song.
Know that the Lord is God, it is He that hath made us;
We are His people, the sheep of His pasture,
the flock under His care.
CHORUS
Enter His gates with thanksgiving,
enter His courts with praise!
Give thanks to Him and bless His name
for the Lord is good, His love endures forever,
His faithfulness to all generations.
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth;
serve the Lord with gladness
and come before Him with joyful song.
CHORUS
For the Lord is good, His love endures forever,
His faithfulness to all generations. (x2)
Listen, O Heavens back
Deuteronomy 32:1-4
© 1996, Jim Witt, ARR, UBP.
Listen, O heavens, and I will speak;
hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.
Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass,
like abundant rain on tender plants.
I will proclaim the name of the Lord,
O praise the greatness of our God! (x2)
He is the Rock, His works are perfect,
and all His ways are just;
a faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is He!
Rend the Heavens back
Based on Isaiah 64
© 1999, David Benning, ARR, UBP.
We, O Lord, are Your children,
the flock that You tend and shepherd;
to us Youve sworn to be our Savior.
In our distress You rescued us,
led us by Your presence; we are Yours alone.
CHORUS
Rend the heavens and come down,
mountains shake before Your face.
Come down to make Your Name be known;
come down to us in grace, come down to us in grace.
Moses saw you on Sinais heights:
Mercy clothed in glory!
Laws were given and were broken.
On Golgotha You bore our curse,
Mercy did not spare You;
law fulfilled, grace was spoken.
CHORUS
Sing of the Lord and His kindnesses,
His love and great redemption,
tenderness and long-suffering.
Let all earth and heaven adore
the precious name of Jesus:
King of kings and Lord of lords!
CHORUS
Dont Give
Up back
Hebrews 12, 2 Timothy 2, 1 Corinthians 9
© 1987, Mark Cameron, ARR, UBP.
The man on the track works hard each day.
(Dont give up, dont give up.)
Quit, you fool! an inner voice says.
(Dont give up, dont give up.)
The pain in his gut builds with each mile,
but the hope of glory makes it worthwhile;
he keeps on running for the final prize.
CHORUS
Dont give up, dont give up, run the race before you;
as an athlete prepares for the fight,
exercise in your spiritual life.
When the going gets hard, dont give up.
Living each day is a spiritual fight;
(Dont give up, dont give up.)
darkness tries to overcome the light.
(Dont give up, don't give up.)
When the Holy Spirit moves, the enemy does, too;
resist him and the urge to sin
by keeping your eyes on the final prize.
CHORUS
The Christian life is just like a race;
every day your training takes place.
You're stretched and tested,
the competition's tough;
Satan wants you to fall in the rough.
But the Holy Spirit gives us grace;
scripture and prayer help us win the race.
We run this race our whole life long,
and Jesus will help us carry on.
CHORUS
I'll Endure Till
the End back
1 Thessalonians 1:3
© 1999, Lyrics and Music: Ruth Bimson;
Music and Arrangement: Evan Mathew, ARR, UBP.
You have granted me, Lord,
a faith that moves the mountains;
it is a faith that conquers the mighty.
It is a faith that knows that
I have been purchased forever,
bought with the blood of our Lord.
CHORUS
Now let my life produce the work of faith,
let my soul labor with all my love.
I'm so inspired by hope that Christ will come again.
Jesus, I'll endure till the end.
You have poured on me, Lord,
a love that is so boundless;
it is the love that planned my salvation.
It's not a love that's due in part
to my goodness or merit,
and it won't fade or depart.
CHORUS
You have promised me, Lord,
a hope that is so certain;
it is a hope thats tested and proven.
Immanuel saves, and He'll come again
in splendor and glory
and take us to be with Him.
CHORUS
Come, All
Who Thirst back
Isaiah 55
© 1998, Richard Spencer, ARR, UBP.
Come, all who thirst, come to the waters and drink,
and you who have no money, come buy and eat.
Why spend your money on what is not bread?
Give ear to Me, that your soul may live.
CHORUS
The Lords word goes out, and does his will,
and we all go out with joy.
The mountains will sing their songs,
the trees will clap their hands;
this will be for the Lord's renown.
Let the wicked forsake their ways,
the evil man his thoughts.
Let him turn to the Lord, who is our God.
For the rain and snow come down and water the ground,
and the word goes out, from out of his mouth.
CHORUS (x2)
We will be for the Lords renown.
Rock Song back
Luke 20:17-18
© 1987, Linda Spartz, ARR, UBP.
In youth I saw myself as wise and strong,
approved by God and man and doing no wrong.
Ignored the Son of God as hope meant for fools;
ignored His holy word as old-fashioned rules.
As years passed by, I grew both restless and weak;
I had no peace or joy, my future was bleak.
No hope in man I found, I saw that man fails;
no hope in all the world, seems evil prevails.
CHORUS
I fell on the Rock!
My pride was shattered and my heart was broken.
I fell on the Rock!
And God raised me up new and whole.
The God of Mercy shone His light in my heart;
He came to me and swore Hed never depart.
I came to know the truth, and truth set me free;
I put my trust in Him and peace came to me!
CHORUS
If you are wandering in your pain and your sin,
the Lord is knocking, wont you open to Him?
His presence in your life will heal and sustain;
He will forgive your sins and bear all your pain.
Fall on the Rock!
You must surrender to the word God's spoken.
Fall on the Rock!
He will unchain you, He will sustain you.
Fall on the Rock!
He'll give His Spirit as His seal and token.
Fall on the Rock!
He will raise you up new and whole;
He will raise you up new and whole.
God Has a Plan
for You back
Psalm 16
© 1999, Mark Cameron, ARR, UBP.
CHORUS
God has a plan for you;
all of His ways are just and true.
God has a plan for you;
all things work to together for good
for those who love the Lord.
I have set the Lord before me always;
He is at my right hand.
Therefore I will not be shaken in my circumstance;
my heart is glad and my tongue will rejoice.
CHORUS
You have assigned me my portion and my cup.
You have made my lot secure.
The boundary lines have fallen for me
in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.
CHORUS
Lord, you are my Lord;
apart from You Ive nothing good.
Youve made known to me the path of life.
You fill me with joy in Your presence,
with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
CHORUS
All Who Are
Thirsty back
Isaiah 55, Matthew 11, Revelation 22

All who are thirsty, come to the waters,
and you without money, come buy and dine.
Why spend your money on things that won't feed you
and labor for things that won't satisfy?
Hearken unto Me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of food.
Come unto Jesus, you burdened and weary,
come unto Him, and He'll give you rest.
Take His yoke upon you and learn more about Him;
partake of His peace and His righteousness.
You will find peace for your sin-weary souls,
for His burden is light and easy His yoke.
Jesus invites you to come to the banquet
Come! says the Spirit and, Come! says
the Bride.
There is rest for the weary and food for the hungry;
the thirsty may drink from the water of life.
He Knows back
Psalm 139
© 1982, Laura Swickard, ARR, UBP.
Every breath that I take, He knows;
every step that I make, He knows.
There's not one thing I can do or say
that He hasn't known from before all days.
He knows, He knows, He knows!
When my spirit is humble and still, He knows,
and when I'm turnin away from His will, He knows.
When all my friends think I'm doing fine,
He can see through me every time.
He knows, He knows, He knows!
Oh, Lord, where can I run from your presence
or hide from your care? If I go up to the heavens or down to the
depths, You are there!
If I rise on the wings of the dawn
or even if I settle on the side of the sea,
You're always there watching over me.
When my smile hides the pain inside, He knows,
and when I've failed in all I've tried, He knows.
When no one else seems to understand,
He reaches out, and He takes my hand.
He knows, He knows, He knows!
Oh, Lord, let it be that every thought I have
comes only from Thee, that I can truly say,
Im Yours today!
and He knows, He knows, He knows!
