Grace Valley Christian Academy is a ministry of Grace Valley Christian Center, located in Davis, California. Enrollment is approximately 200 students in kindergarten through ninth grade.

Mission

Grace Valley Christian Academy seeks to provide children an excellent academic education within the context of a consistent Christian world and life view.

Our desire is to help parents train children:

academically
spiritually
socially
physically

We view this development and training in light of God's wisdom as revealed in the Christian Bible. Through God's involvement in the educational process, the child can achieve success in life and academics. (top)

Philosophy

The Grace Valley educational program gains its support and authority from the unchanging Word of God. The Bible is the center of education at Grace Valley Christian Academy.

Reflecting its heritage, Grace Valley upholds the Bible as the living core of the school's program. We believe that we are God's people:

made in His image
living in the midst of His creation
redeemed from our fallen state by the blood of Jesus Christ

We are called to master and care for God's creation and man's own culture to God's glory.

We do not make a distinction between religious subjects and secular subjects. As believers, we have freedom and responsibility to prepare our students to think and to work in all fields of knowledge in the light of God's Word.

Although Scripture does not change, our society does. Therefore, our curriculum may change to meet changing situations in our society. But the principles behind the changes remain the same. Grace Valley seeks to respond to the ever-varied face of human culture from the stable and secure platform of biblical truth. (top)

Faculty

From the earliest times, the profession of teacher has been honored. When people wished to show their respect to Jesus during his earthly ministry, they often called him "Rabbi"--teacher. At Grace Valley, the calling of teacher is still honored.

The teacher is the pivotal person in education, not only because he or she can place before a child all of the wonder, complexity and grandeur of God's creation, but because the teacher's very life is a model of what the student must become. The best Christian teachers are constantly aware that they must be able to stand with the apostle Paul, saying,

"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice." (Phil. 4:9)

Grace Valley teachers are trained professionals, called by God to help parents educate their children. (top)

Enrollment is approximately 200 students in kindergarten through ninth grade. Grace Valley Christian Academy's curriculum guidelines are provided by the Core Knowledge Sequence. The Sequence is a detailed outline of specific content to be taught in: language arts history geography mathematics science fine arts Our analysis is that the Core Knowledge Sequence meets or exceeds the newly enhanced State of California curriculum standards and benchmarks. Every subject in the curriculum is related to the Word of God and is taught from a distinctly Christian perspective, so that it may bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ through the lives of the students.
