General Admission Policy
To be admitted to Grace Valley Christian Academy, the student and his/her parent must subscribe to the school’s philosophy and agree to abide by the educational policies and regulations of the school and Grace Valley Christian Center. This includes full compliance of and cooperation with the school’s admission procedures.
Grace Valley Christian Academy (GVCA) admits students of any race, color and national ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities offered to students at the school. It does not discriminate based on race, color, national and/or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarship and loan programs, athletic, and other school administered programs.
GVCA reserves the right to admit or dismiss any student for any non-discriminatory purpose. This includes the right to deny admission to an applicant or, in the alternative, to dismiss a student once he or she has enrolled, solely on the basis that the religious beliefs held by the student (or student’s parent or guardian) are inconsistent with the religious beliefs of Grace Valley Christian Center (GVCC).
Students are admitted to Grace Valley Christian Academy in the following order of priorities:
- Siblings of students presently enrolled
- Grace Valley Christian Center members
- Non-members of GVCC.
All new students will be screened academically. No one will be admitted who, in the judgment of the administration, will not have his/her needs met at Grace Valley Christian Academy. This school is not geared to accommodate students who demonstrate severe grade level deficiencies.
All new students will be screened for behavior patterns and attitudes. No one will be admitted who, in the judgment of the administration, will not have his/her needs met at Grace Valley Christian Academy. The administration and faculty are not geared to accommodate students who demonstrate severe behavioral problems.
All new students are placed on academic and conduct probation for at least a nine week period. GVCA reserves the right to dismiss any student if, within this probationary period, the student demonstrates severe academic or behavioral issues in the judgment of the administration, even though all other conditions of admission and the terms of the Enrollment Contract have been adhered to.
Kindergarten Admissions
Kindergarten students must be at least five years of age by December 1st of the school year. The applicant student must demonstrate age-appropriate developmental maturity on the School Readiness Survey and all admissions procedures must be completed.
