Grace Valley Volleyball Club Policies

All policies below are intended to be consistent with the Mission Statement (see VB Club Home Page), and to offer clarification for the players and their parents.  The policies listed below are in no particular order.

1. Participation in Grace Valley Volleyball Club is a privilege, not a right.  A player’s participation in GVVC can be suspended or revoked at any time by the team coach or the club director.  If a player’s participation in GVVC is suspended or revoked, the fees paid by the parents for the club season will NOT be refunded, in whole or part.

2. Every player must exhibit exemplary behavior at all times during practices or competitions, toward their opponents, officials, and coaching staff.

3. Parents are expected to enforce the positive behavior of their children in GVVC, and support the coaching staff.

4. GVVC teams will not play or practice on Sundays.

5. In tournaments or other competitive play, GVVC teams will play to win!  The coaches will direct their teams accordingly, and parents need to realize that their daughters will not necessarily play in every match.

6. Players are not guaranteed of any amount of playing time at any competition.

7. GVVC tries to avoid “cutting” any interested eligible players.  Our “tryouts” are interviews and/or initial practices to determine how interested and committed the eligible girls are, to participate in the volleyball club.

8. GVVC is a private club that is a ministry of Grace Valley Christian Center.  Eligibility to participate is prioritized, and limited to the number of coaches and gym time available.  For more information, click here (to AA4).

9. Each team will pray before the start of a tournament or other competition, and at the start of each practice.

10. Players may participate only in the practices for their age group, unless invited by another age group’s coach, and with the player’s parents’ approval.

11. Parents are encouraged to use participation in the volleyball club as a disciplinary tool with their daughters, if necessary.  The club will support the parents’ decision to exclude their daughters’ participation in a given tournament or other competition.
